KINTEX 1, Meeting Room 209, Goyang-si, Gyeonggi-do
Wednesday, April 1 | 14:00 KST
As home-based drug delivery continues to expand, elastomer components play a critical role in ensuring safe, reliable, and user-friendly drug delivery systems. Pharmaceutical manufacturers are therefore increasingly focused on component compatibility, process efficiency, and regulatory confidence. This seminar highlights how advanced elastomer solutions support these evolving needs across drug delivery applications.
Session 1: Home-Based Drug Delivery – Practical System Enablement
Speaker: Yitian Xiao, Global Biologics Product Expert
This session focuses on home-based drug delivery systems and the role of NeoFlex™ plungers in ensuring reliable performance across the main prefilled syringe and cartridge platforms. Key topics include:
- Latest drug delivery trends in the EU and US (such as large-volume subcutaneous injection used in biopharmaceuticals targeting oncological, autoimmune, neurological, and cardiovascular diseases)
- Compatibility with complex formulations and sensitive biologics, ensuring low extractables and leachables
- Reliable container closure integrity (CCI) and smooth, consistent functionality across delivery devices
- The critical role of elastomer components in enabling seamless implementation and customer transition from development to commercial production
- Practical insights into equipment selection and line-setting processes, supporting efficient and stable operations
- High level US regulatory updates for elastomer components (such as USP 382)
Session 2: PFAS Regulations & Coating Solutions – Clarity for Informed Decisions
Speaker: Simon Kervyn, Manager Surface Development
This session provides clear guidance on the PFAS regulatory landscape and its impact on coated rubber components. Key topics include:
- Overview of current and emerging PFAS regulations relevant to pharmaceutical packaging
- Customer questions around specific polymer types—such as OmniFlex® and NeoFlex™ , ETFE—and how these relate to regulatory expectations
- Datwyler’s material strategy and the performance advantages, safety, and regulatory records of our coating solutions
- How to confidently evaluate coating options while balancing functionality, compliance, and long-term sustainability
Simultaneous interpretation between English and Korean will be arranged.
